The Tudor Barn dates back to the 16th Century and is now used as a pub and restaurant, set in the ornamental gardens of The Pleasaunce. To the north of Eltham is Sevendroog Castle, a folly standing in the woods leading up towards Shooters Hill.

A few miles away is Blackheath and Greenwich, including the open heath, Greenwich Park with the Royal Observatory and the Maritime Museum, and the Millennium Dome alongside the River Thames.
